Ostomy components - converting tape for a better quality of life
Manufacturing reliable components for your stoma patients
An in-depth understanding of the requirements to improve quality of life for stoma care patients.
Components for continence and ostomy devices
Global manufacturers of ostomy and continence devices rely on PolarSeal® to provide a host of complex, multi-layer components used in the manufacture of their products.
We understand that product reliability and cost-effective solutions are vital in this competitive market, as well as the need for ongoing technical support for new product development to improve the quality of life for stoma care patients.
Application overview
PolarSeal® manufactures and provides technical support for all primary and secondary ostomy components including:
- Adhesive filter covers
- Ostomy bag closure systems
- Carbon/charcoal filters to reduce odour
- Bag tail components
- Hook and loop closure systems
- Hydrocolloid bag to body attachment pieces
- Hydrocolloid flanges and washers
- Non-woven tapes and die-cuts for body contact areas
- Raw material film slitting
- Presentation in rolls for machine application of parts
Adhesive solutions
The need for skin-friendly adhesives is nowhere more important than in this field. Reliability during use is essential, and low skin trauma during removal equally important due to the often long-term usage of these products.
For other non-skin contact components, we have developed specialist and technologically advanced high tack adhesives for attachment to low surface energy films typically used in these devices.
