In MedTech development, a prototype is often where ideas start becoming real.

It is the stage where concepts are tested, designs evolve, and teams begin understanding how a product is likely to behave outside of theory and simulation.

But not all prototypes offer the same value.

In many projects, early prototypes are created purely to demonstrate a concept or basic functionality. While useful, they do not always reflect the realities of manufacturing, material performance or process consistency.

A prototype may perform well in development but behave differently when transferred into production conditions. Materials may respond differently at scale. Processes that worked during early builds may become difficult to repeat consistently.
