All types of self-adhesive and non-adhesive materials can be slit to your specification, whether standard or non-standard widths. These processes are often the first step in production prior to die-cutting, lamination or printing.
Lathe slitting on the original core without rewinding, widths down to 3mm can be achieved. Low volume orders can be undertaking due to limited setup involved
Rewind slitting by rewinding material from original cores through a knife system onto core size or type to your specification. This method enables any length to be rewound onto any individual core.
PolarSeal has extensive facilities to laminate self-adhesive materials onto a huge variety of other substrates. This allows us to design and manufacture products not available in any standard product range. These include differential adhesives, special adhesives and thicknesses, multi-layer structures along with significant cost saving benefits.
Full width lamination up to 1600mm wide gives PolarSeal great flexibility, allowing a vast range of standard, pre-approved and specialised substrates to be configured.
Zone lamination is frequently used to provide areas of non-adhesive material within a construction to aid in the handling and application of your product. This process may be used to provide narrow areas of adhesive for temporary holding or placement of parts.
Roll to roll printing on pressure sensitive label stock, vinyl, cloth and films. These can be over-laminated to protect print from the elements or from coming in contact with various solvents which could destroy the ink. Typical print applications include identification, product release liners, instructions, advertising and branding. Pattern coating with silicone can also be undertaken allowing for areas of the product to be coated to act as a release liner.
In-line inkjet printing as an aid to product identification, batch traceability, expiry dates and other specialist applications. It offers total control and flexibility with a considerable range of print size options and font styles meeting specific requirements.
Die-cutting of all types of self-adhesive and non-adhesive products used in numerous industrial, medical and consumer applications is a major part of PolarSeal’s production. There are four main tooling options for die-cutting; steel rule, two die part die set, rotary die or rotary flex die.
Flat bed die-cutting utilising steel rule blades in a formed shape is a process whereby the tool lifts up and down above a moving web of material to cut the shape and rewind a completed roll into the specified presentation.
Rotary die-cutting utilises a rotating cutting tool on the web of material to enable a vast range of possibilities for presentation, style and format. When combined with lamination, multi-layer substrates, printed backing papers and sheeting, the possibilities are truly endless.
